Julio Victoria was born in the countryside of the Colombian coffee growing region. He grew up playing competitive tennis internationally, a sport that would take him to the south of Germany. There, he discovered Plattentasche record store, which initiated a new journey of musical discovery. It was a point of no return, leading him to dedicate his life completely to house and techno, to selection and production.

Moving to Bogotá for university, Victoria quickly climbed to the top of his country’s music scene, not only as a DJ, but also as a producer. With his raw but always melodic and layered cuts, he secured himself a slot at Boiler Room Colombia and established a large following through successful sets at national events – like Sónar Bogotá, Nuits Sonores Colombia, Estereo Picnic, and BAUM – and international festivals such as Dimensions in Croatia, kolorádó fesztivál, Comunité in Tulum, and III Points in Miami. Victoria’s music has filled Printworks in London, Contact in Tokyo, Concrete in Paris, Zukunft in Zurich, Jagger in Oslo, Larm in Budapest, Truth in Johannesburg and Output in New York.

Victoria has also moved beyond the dance floor with more experimental live projects – including a live band which blends traditional indigenous Colombian sounds, such as marimba and harp players, into his signature Detroit and Chicago-inspired electronic beats. His score for the film Berlin: Die Symphonie der Grobstadt – commissioned by the Goethe Institut Kolumbien – further illustrates his versatility and vision. In 2019, he also launched a project bringing electronic music workshops to Ciudad Bolívar, the most deprived barrio in Bogotá.
